S.H.A.R.E. Program Assistance
Requesting SHARE Assistance
To request assistance from the SHARE Program; an employee must complete the online application located at the following web address; louisville.edu/staffsenate/programs.html
The application will be verified for eligibility by one of the following; Chair of the SHARE program, Staff Senate Program Coordinator, Staff Senate Chair, Staff Senate Vice-Chair or Staff Senate Secretary/Treasurer. All personal information is held strictly confidential.
The employee must meet the following criteria to be eligible for SHARE Program funds:
· Be a full-time permanent staff member of the University for a period of one year;
· Have exhausted all sick and vacation leave; and currently be classified as out of pay status.
If the applicant meets the criteria for assistance the Chair of the SHARE program will bring forward to the SHARE Committee a description of the request omitting names and departments to determine the amount of assistance provided to each staff employee on an individual basis, pending the availability of funds.
The SHARE committee consists of 7 Staff Senate members + Senate Secretary/Treasurer, all are recommended and approved by the Staff Senate Credentials & Nominations Committee.
To maintain privacy and confidentiality for the SHARE Program applicant, SHARE Program meetings are closed to visitors.
The SHARE Committee can approve/disapprove all expenditures and can determine the amount of assistance based on availability of funds and may request additional information from the employee upon receipt of the application.
The committee will all see the what, why and when of the issues, but only the Chair of SHARE and one additional person (one of the Senate Officers) will know who is making the confidential SHARE request. The SHARE Program Committee's decision is neither grievable nor appealable. SHARE Program assistance is not offered in retroactive situations.
If the SHARE request is approved a confirmation of receipt of assistance will be signed by the employee receiving assistance and the SHARE Chair or one of the Senate Officers. The recommended assistance will be provided based on the determination of the SHARE committee.
