Curriculum and Course Description
Since 1955, the Southern Police Institute has provided law enforcement officers worldwide with quality homicide investigative training. The HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION course provides participants with advanced knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the successful resolution of death investigations. Carefully selected case studies are used to explore every aspect of death investigations. An expert in a specific field of specialization leads each course segment. These experts are court certified and provide participants with valuable exposure to years of field experience and a variety of investigative techniques.
This course is an intensive eighty-hour course delivered over 10 days. Each participant is granted the opportunity to individually interact with the instructors. Reading material and small group problem solving supplement the classroom instruction. At the completion of the course, participants have the ability to differentiate between accidental, suicidal, and homicidal death.

All Homicide Investigation courses are KLEC certified.
