Community Presence and Partnerships

Being present in the community is a high priority for OPHP.  In June 2015, the Office relocated from the SPHIS building in the Health Sciences Center in downtown Louisville to the Old Walnut Street development owned by the Louisville Central Community Centers in the Russell neighborhood in West Louisville.  Being housed within the community is integral to being visible, building relationships, earning trust, and gaining insight to understand the local context.

Partnership is foundational to OPHP’s work.  The team has developed strong relationships with Louisville Metro Government, initially through preparation of the city’s Promise Zone application.  OPHP is now actively collaborating with the Center for Health Equity, the Office of Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods, Louisville Metro Public Health & Wellness (LMPHW), Louisville Metro Police Department, JCPS, Vanderbilt University, and KentuckyOne Health office on current projects.
