Health promotion doctoral students receive graduate school diversity grants

Two doctoral students in the Department of Health Promotion & Behavioral Sciences were awarded Commission on Diversity and Racial Equality (CODRE) Diversity Grants for the 2014-2015 academic year. These funds have been designated to support UofL graduate student research that targets diverse, underserved, or vulnerable populations.

Katie Leslie is in candidacy and using the grant for her dissertation research on the influence of children and adolescents on the physical activity levels of parents in rural communities.

Bernadette Guzman, who is a doctoral candidate, is using the funds to support the study: “Life Satisfaction and Homelessness: Results from the Homeless Population in Louisville, KY.”
