Welcome to new DEPH faculty, Dr. Kira Taylor
Kira Taylor, Ph.D., joined the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health as an Assistant Professor on August 1, 2011. Dr. Taylor began her career conducting biological and molecular genetics research. She received a master's degree in Biological Sciences from Stanford University and a master's degree in Education (focus on secondary science education) from Wake Forest University. After teaching high school in Atlanta and England, she returned to Emory University to pursue her Ph.D. in Epidemiology. To gain more experience in genetic epidemiology, she went to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for a postdoctoral fellowship, where she researched genetic associations with cardiovascular disease-related outcomes.
