Health promotion MPH student, Gagandeep Kaur, with two doctoral students from the School of Nursing (Heather Hardin and Rebecca Blankenship), developed a decision analysis in Dr. Scott LaJoie's Health Decision and Risk Analysis class that evaluates mandatory vaccine strategies for HPV. Parents' preferences maintaining autonomy appears to tilt the decision in favor of non-mandatory recommendations.

The students' work will be presented in Cancun, Mexico at the Sigma Theta Tau International's 22nd International Nursing Research Congress. The presentation is titled: "Utility Analysis of a HPV Vaccine Mandate for Public School Enrollment."
