SPHIS welcomes four new faculty members
Dr. Susan Olson-Allen has been with the Department of Health Management and Systems Sciences since November of 2005, and was recently promoted to assistant professor. Her research interests include public health and the built environment, policy development in public health and program evaluation.
In addition, three new faculty members have joined the Department of Bioinformatics and Biostatistics:
- Dongfeng Wu, PhD, Associate Professor, arrived on September 1, 2007 from the Department of Mathematics & Statistics at Mississippi State University. Dr. Wu’s research interests include cancer screening models, Bayesian Inference, and Computing.
- Shesh Rai, PhD, Associate Professor, arrives on November 1, 2007 from St. Jude Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Dr. Rai specializes in cancer biostatistics and his research interests include survival analysis, mixed hierarchical effects, and quantitative risk assessment. Dr. Rai's office will be located at the Brown Cancer Center.
- Adriana Perez, PhD, Associate Professor, arrives at UofL on November 9, 2007 from the University of Texas at Houston Health Science Center. Dr. Perez will serve as the primary biostatistics liaison with the University's Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute. Dr. Perez's research interests include missing data in longitudinal studies, statistical methods in clinical epidemiology, and clinical trials.
