SPHIS students to present at KPHA 2013

Congratulations to all those who will be presenting* during the 2013 Annual Meeting of the Kentucky Public Health Association. This year's poster session is scheduled from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 28.  Please come out and support the presenters and enjoy a continental breakfast sponsored by Kentucky's schools of public health.

Poster Presentations

Anne Harrell, MPH student, will present “Refugee Health Screening Program: Monitoring and Improving Refugee Health Outcomes through a Data Coordination Process”.

Katie Leslie, MS, doctoral student in health promotion, will present "Developing a Targeted Measles Vaccination Campaign through the Mental Models Approach to Risk Communication".

Samantha Mathieson, MPH student, will present “Willingness and Attitudes of Healthcare Workers to Report to Work during an Infectious Disease Outbreak”.

Jessica Simpson, MPH student, will present “Decision Aid for Recently Diagnosed Patients with Ductal Carcinoma In situ (DCIS) Breast Cancer”.

Alumnus, Benjamin M. Risner, MD, MS, MPH, will present "Bridging the Gap: Assessing the Overlap and Reinforcement of Public Health Educational Competencies in the University of Louisville Family Medicine Residency Program".

Marit Uglane, MPH student, will present “Improving Health Care Utilization Over Time for Low-Income Children With Asthma: The Healthy Hoops Program”.

Robin Weiss, MPH, doctoral student in health management, will present "Leveraging Social Media to Advance Public Health Education".
