Dr. Taylor publishes in Human Molecular Genetics
Kira Taylor, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Epidemiology and Population Health, coauthored the article, “Gene-centric meta-analyses of 108,912 individuals confirm known body mass index loci and reveal three novel signals,” recently published in Human Molecular Genetics. Dr. Connor publishes in Annals of Epidemiology
Avonne Connor, MPH, PhD, Postdoctoral Associate, Department of Epidemiology and Population Health, published “Differences between Hispanic and non-Hispanic white women with breast cancer for clinical characteristics and their correlates” in Annals of Epidemiology. Co-authors include Kathy Baumgartner, PhD, Richard Baumgartner, PhD, and Dongyan Yang, MD. Access the article.

MPH student, Nikka Sorrells, presents at national conference
Nikka Sorrells, MPH student, will present the poster, "Assessing the difference in burn prevention between two groups," at the Society of Pediatric Nurses Annual Convention, April 11 - 14, 2013 in Nashville. The poster presents findings from a randomized study that examined the difference in knowledge between a burn prevention class group versus a home visit group. Yearly, 300 children are hospitalized in north central Kentucky due to burn injuries.
