HPBS hosts workshop series for public health practitioners
The Department of Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences is providing professional development workshops to the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health & Wellness (LMPHW). The primary attendees are personnel responsible for community health promotion, stationed in the main branch on East Gray Street and in the Center for Health Equity. The focus of the workshops is on public health competencies and on using existing data sources to complete community health assessments. These activities inform strategic program planning and support the heath department’s effort to seek accreditation. Sessions were held on December 18 and March 18, with the next workshop scheduled for June 17.
