Dr. Troutman, a national leader in public health
Adewale Troutman was elected to the APHA Executive Board during the 2009 APHA Annual Meeting in Philadelphia. He will serve a four-year term. Dr. Troutman is currently Director of the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness and a faculty member of the SPHIS.
In another show of leadership, the National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE) announced that Dr. Troutman has achieved the recognition of being Certified in Public Health. With this accomplishment, Dr. Troutman demonstrates his mastery of the core sciences of public health and his ongoing commitment to staying on the cutting-edge of public health issues. Dr. Troutman said of the exam, “Public health is critically important in the protection and promotion of health and the prevention of disease. The CPH provides evidence that we as public health professionals have attained a nationally recognized level of expertise to assure the conditions in which people can be healthy. I believe that everyone eligible who is in the field should take the exam.”
