Dr. Myers to collaborate on School of Nursing award
John Myers, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Bioinformatics and Biostatistics will collaborate with colleagues from the School of Nursing, Department of Communication and the College of Business on the project, "Developing and Testing A Social Marketing Program to Improve Health Care Utilization of Teen Mothers with Symptoms of Depression and Anxiety," which was recently funded through Passport Health Plan's Improved Health Outcomes Program (iHOP). This project will investigate how social marketing and social media can be used to decrease depression and anxiety, as well as increase adherence to treatment, in new adolescent mothers. In addition, the research team hopes to develop a social marketing brand as a result of their work.
