Dr. Myers presents at two scientific meetings
John Myers, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Bioinformatics and Biostatistics, and colleagues at the School of Nursing (Dr. Hutti and Dr. Armstrong) won first place in the podium presentation competition at the Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health annual meeting in Desert Springs, CA on Oct. 15. Their presentation, "Healthcare Utilization in a Subsequent Pregnancy after Perinatal Loss," was ranked first, by their peers, among the 38 presentations at the conference.
Dr. Myers also worked with a research team to develop the first reliable and valid instrument that measures an individual's burn prevention knowledge with the support of an International Fire Fighters Association grant. Dr. Myers presented their work Sept. 21 in London as part of 2010 World Safety Conference. In addition, this work has allowed the team to receive additional funding to evaluate a web-based approach to increasing individuals’ burn prevention knowledge.
