Kathy Baumgartner, PhD, Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health, has been appointed to the position of Acting Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs effective August 1, 2009. As advisor to the Dean on faculty matters, Dr. Baumgartner will initiate, oversee, and coordinate activities to develop and maintain faculty competence and excellence in teaching, research, and service; oversee faculty appointments, promotions, awards of tenure, periodic career reviews, chair reviews and other faculty actions; oversee nomination and evaluation of faculty awards; provide ombuds services for faculty; and disseminate information related to faculty matters. All activities will be performed in conjunction with departments, committees and other associate deans.
