Dr. Hoyle receives NIH funding
Gary Hoyle, PhD, Professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences, will serve as the PI on the two-year project, Repair of Airway Epithelium Following Chlorine Lung Injury which was funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The research is supported by the Countermeasures Against Chemical Threats (CounterACT) Program, a trans-NIH translational research initiative. The funded research will focus on developing ways to stimulate endogenous stem cells of the respiratory tract to accelerate cellular repair following chemical injury.
