Dr. Datta named IMS Fellow
Somnath Datta, Professor in the Department of Bioinformatics and Biostatistics, has been named a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS). Fellowship in the IMS recognizes distinction in research in statistics or probability by publication of independent work of merit. The new Fellows will be honored during the IMS Annual Meeting on Aug. 10 in Gothenburg, Sweden. Created in 1933, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics is a member organization which fosters the development and dissemination of the theory and applications of statistics and probability. The IMS has over 4500 active members throughout the world.
