Department of Epidemiology and Population Health welcomes new faculty members
Effective Sept. 1, two new faculty members have joined the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health. Elizabeth O'Brien, PhD, Assistant Professor, specializes in population genetics and she has both laboratory and quantitative skills in molecular/genetic epidemiology. She has published over 22 peer-reviewed journal publications, most of which concern genetic susceptibility for cancer and other diseases. Richard Kerber, PhD, Associate Professor received his doctoral degree in Anthropology, from Northwestern University. He did subsequent post-doctoral work as a statistician and systems analyst with the Utah Fallout Study and the Utah Regional Cancer Center, served as the Interim Director of the Utah (SEER) Cancer Registry, and was Associate Professor and Senior Scientist in the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah. He has 40 peer-reviewed publications, many of which are in high impact journals such the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, JAMA, Journal of the National Cancer Institute, Annals of Internal Medicine, Cancer and Cancer Research.
