Chelsea Canan, a 2012 graduate from the MPH program, won the North American Spine Society (NASS) 2012 Value Abstract Award based on her practicum entitled “Blood Salvage Produces Higher Total Blood Product Costs in Single-Level Lumbar Spinal Surgery.” Her work will be presented at the NASS Annual Meeting on Oct. 26. Dr. John Myers was her practicum advisor and Dr. Leah Carreon from the Norton Leatherman Spine Center was her site preceptor.
