Biostatistics Ph.D. Students Receive Awards at Research!Louisville 2007
Two PhD students in the department of Bioinformatics and Biostatistics received awards for their entries in the 2007 Research!Louisville poster competition for nursing and public health graduate students. Vasyl Pihur, M.S. won first place for his poster "Reconstruction of Genetic Association Networks from Microarray Data: A Partial Least Squares Approach." Christopher Barnes, M.S. received the third place award for his poster "A Pilot Clinical Decision Rule for Differential Diagnosis between Late Onset Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome in Adolescent Females." Pihur and Barnes received certificates at the Research!Louisville awards ceremony on Friday, October 19, 2007.
