Research Interests

Infection prevention, school health, infectious diseases transmission, healthcare-associated infections, emergency preparedness, immunization.

Teaching Activities

PhD, MPH and CREST programs. Practicum Academic Advisor.  Doctoral in Public Health Sciences Academic Advisor.

Current Projects

Primary activities include training, education and research involving infection prevention among patients, healthcare workers, and special populations.

Service

Prevention of Healthcare-associated infection in hospitals and other healthcare facilities.

Member, Board of Directors for the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC).  Member, Board of Directors for the Kentucky Institute for Patient Safety and Quality (KIPSQ).

Mentoring Activities

MPH student practicum, healthcare workers and researchers with an interest in public health and infection prevention.
