From 1981-1993, founded and was CEO of Second Foundation, Inc., which developed and marketed electronic health record systems.
From 1974-1981, served as Research Associate in the PROMIS Laboratory, University of Vermont.
From 1972-1974, was Project Officer in the US Public Health Service, assigned to the Health Care Technology Division, National Center for Health Services Research and Development, DHHS, Rockville, MD.
From 1971-1972, served as Intern, Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, PA.
