Research!Louisville Student Winners (Oct 2018)

Congratulations to Connor English, MS in Biostatistics student, and Ugochuwku (Ugo) Olowabi, MPH Biostatistics concentrator, both of whom won 1st place awards at Research!Louisville 2018. Connor's poster, "Multiple comorbidities among patients with community-acquired pneumonia lead to higher mortality rates regardless of age", won 1st place: Research and Practice and Ugo's poster, "Missing laboratory values among patients with pneumonia should not exclude them from analysis in clinical research", won 1st place: Master's Student for SPHIS. Four Faculty, One Student named Faculty Favorites for 2017-2018 (Sep 2018)

Congratulations to Maiying Kong, Doug Lorenz, Shesh Rai, and Dongfeng Wu, who have been named Faculty Favorites for the 2017-2018 academic year. Congratulations also to Mary Gregg, a doctoral student in biostatistics, for being nominated a Faculty Favorite for her service as a tutor in the University's REACH program. Doug Lorenz named University “Top 4” Faculty Favorite (Feb 2015)

K.B. Kulasekera and Shesh Rai named ASA Fellows (June 2014)

Congratulations to K.B. Kulasekera and Shesh Rai, who have been named fellows of the American Statistical Association (ASA).  The designation of fellow is awarded to only 1/3 of one percent of the ASA membership and recognizes outstanding leadership and professional contribution to the ASA and the field of statistics.  Check out the School of Public Health and Information Sciences announcement and the release from the ASA announcing their designation.
