Admissions Requirements

In order to submit an application to one of the School of Public Health and Information Sciences (SPHIS) degree programs, you must apply to the University of Louisville Graduate School. Admission requirements for each SPHIS degree program are listed below.

Certificate in Biostatistics

Fall semester enrollment – Apply on or before July 1 (International applicants); July 25 (Domestic applicants).

Spring semester enrollment – Applications are not accepted.

Summer semester enrollment –  Apply on or before April 1 (International applicants); April 15 (Domestic applicants).

MS in Biostatistics

Fall semester enrollment –  Apply on or before July 1 (International applicants); July 25 (Domestic applicants).

Spring semester enrollment – Applications are not accepted.

Summer semester enrollment –  Apply on or before April 1 (International applicants); April 15 (Domestic applicants).

Certificate in Clinical Investigation Sciences

Fall semester enrollment – Completed applications and all required application materials are due by August 1.

International students are encouraged to apply no later than 120 days prior to the start of the fall semester. 

Spring semester enrollment – Accepted with Program Director approval.

Summer semester enrollment – Applications are not accepted.

MSc in Clinical Investigation Sciences

Fall semester enrollment - Completed applications and all required application materials are due by August 1.

International students are encouraged to apply no later than 120 days prior to the start of the fall semester. 

Spring semester enrollment – Accepted with Program Director approval.

Summer semester enrollment – Applications are not accepted.

MS in Epidemiology

Fall semester enrollment – Apply on or before March 1 (International applicants); April 1 (Domestic applicants).

Spring semester enrollment – Applications are not accepted.

Summer semester enrollment – Applications are not accepted.

MS in Health Administration

EVENING TRACK

Applications are accepted for Fall semester enrollment only.

Fall semester enrollment – Apply on or before March 1 (International applicants); July 1* (Domestic applicants).

ONLINE TRACK

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

  • Fall 1 Term enrollment – Apply on or before July 1 
  •  Spring I Term enrollment – Apply on or before Dec. 1

MS in Health Data Analytics

Fall semester enrollment – Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Applications preferred by July 1. 

Domestic students are encouraged to apply no later than 30 days prior to the start of the fall semester.

International students encouraged to apply no later than 120 days prior to the start of the fall semester. 

Spring semester enrollment – Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Applications preferred by Nov. 1

Domestic students are encouraged to apply no later than 30 days prior to the start of the fall semester.

International students encouraged to apply no later than 120 days prior to the start of the fall semester. 

Summer semester enrollment – Applications are not accepted.

Master of Public Health (MPH)

Fall semester enrollment – Apply on or before March 1 (International applicants). Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for domestic students.

Domestic students are encouraged to apply no later than 30 days prior to the start of the fall semester.

Spring semester enrollment – Applications are not accepted.

Summer semester enrollment – Applications are not accepted.

PhD in Biostatistics

Fall semester enrollment – Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Fall semester enrollment – Apply on or before Jan. 1 (International applicants); Feb. 1 (Domestic applicants)

PhD in Public Health Sciences - Health Management & Policy

Fall semester enrollment – Apply on or before March 1.

Applications received after the priority admission deadline will be considered on a space-available basis.

Spring semester enrollment – Applications are not accepted.

Summer semester enrollment – Applications are not accepted.

PhD in Public Health Sciences - Health Promotion & Behavioral Sciences

Fall semester enrollment – Apply on or before March 1* (International applicants); March 31 (Domestic applicants).

*Applications received by December 31 will receive first consideration for admission and funding. Those received after December 31 will be considered based on availability of space in the program.
