In September 2006, SPHIS formed a committee to assure the broadest possible representation of racial and ethnic minorities among faculty, staff and students. The Diversity Committee, composed of faculty members from all SPHIS departments, will review the following to assure that diversity goals are being achieved:

• results of the school’s recruitment and hiring of faculty and staff
• recruitment and admission of students on a periodic basis
• relevant policies and procedures of the school
