2008 National Public Health Week Essay Winners
The School of Public Health and Information Sciences would like to thank all of the middle school students who submitted essays in response to the question: “What would my life be like without clean running water?” Faculty, staff and students were impressed with the thoughtful and creative entries we received.
First, second and third place winners were selected for each participating school. Honorable mentions were added based on the number of entries received. Essays were scored on originality and use of appropriate grammar and spelling. Top essays were descriptive, provided evidence and made judgments related to the question posed.
Students with winning essays will receive a framed certificate and a cash prize during the awards ceremony to be held on Tuesday, April 15 during a University of Louisville baseball game.
