INFO SESSION: Rapid Advancement in Process Intensification Deployment (RAPID) Manufacturing Institute
University of Louisville is a participating member of the newly announced Rapid Advancement in Process Intensification Deployment (RAPID) Manufacturing Institute. RAPID is among the latest of the DOE funded nation’s network of Manufacturing USA Institutes (NNMI). The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) in collaboration with Savannah River National Laboratory and Georgia Institute of Technology is the lead for this Institute. The focus of this Manufacturing Innovation Institute is Modular Chemical Process Intensification for Clean Energy Manufacturing. RAPID has a participating membership consisting of companies, academic institutions, national laboratories, and non-governmental organizations from all regions of the country that have committed to cost shares leveraging DOE’s $70 million contribution over 5 years, with total project spending exceeding $140 million.
Chemical and Commodity Processing; Intensified Process Fundamentals; Modeling and Simulation; Module Manufacturing; Natural Gas Upgrading; and Renewable Bioproducts are the six focus areas within RAPID.
There is a significant opportunity for U of L to propose novel and highly collaborative proposals within these focus areas.
If you are interested to know more about RAPID, you are invited to come to the information session.
