Heidi Neal

Director of Student Success; Interim Asst. Dean of Student Affairs


Heidi Neal is the Director of Student Success within the JB Speed School of Engineering.  As of July 1, 2017 Heidi began her appointment as Interim Assistant Dean of Student Affairs.  In this role Heidi will oversee the leadership and strategic planning for Engineering outreach, admissions, student success, and co-op/ career services.  Heidi has spent the last 10 years in higher education focusing on student affairs, admissions, student success, and leadership development.   She is extremely involved in the Kentuckiana community, focusing on her passion of leadership development and Engineering K-12 education. 

Research Interest:

  • Retention and graduation success among undergraduate engineering students
  • Female recruitment and success within STEM in higher education
  • Regional transition and academic success of Appalachian high school students within urban Engineering Universities
