Dr. Michael L. Day joined the faculty of the University of Louisville in 1979 after receiving his Ph.D. in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from Purdue University. Although still a member of the Mechanical Engineering faculty, he serves as Speed School's Associate Dean for Strategies, Initiatives after serving as Assoc. Dean of Academic Affairs for 12 years. His teaching and research interests lie in the areas of structural mechanics, finite element analysis, and biomechanics.
