Dr. Bohm joined the Speed School of Engineering after completing a visiting research position at Oregon State University. Bohm received his doctorate in Mechanical Engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T). While at Missouri S&T Bohm was also a Lecturer for the Department of Interdisciplinary Engineering and was responsible for coordinating and teaching design and mechanics related courses. Bohm began research in the Engineering Design field as an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering student. The main theme of his research focuses on design information archival and reuse. Recently his work has explored artificial intelligence algorithms to support a new method of automated concept generation.
Capstone Design, Design Optimization, Design for X, Advanced Design Methods, Design of Experiments.
Automated conceptual design generation, realization of function, avoidance of design fixation, complex systems health monitoring and diagnostics, and root cause/fault detection and avoidance.
Advisor to the SAE Formula Car Team, Assessment Committee, and Engineering Outreach with the College for a Day Program.
