Dr. Gail DePuy is the interim dean of the J.B. Speed School of Engineering as of July 1, 2017. As Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at Speed, Dr. DePuy has an intimate knowledge of the school and is highly regarded for her teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, her extensive research background and her service in various capacities for the school and university.

A professor of Industrial Engineering, Dr. DePuy’s research focus lies in the areas of production planning, health care engineering and operations research. She has written more than 80 technical papers and has served as principal investigator or co-principal investigator on more than $2.4 million of funded research.

An external search for a permanent dean has been announced and a search committee has been formed.
