Fundamentals of Engineering exam to be exclusively computer-based beginning January 2014

Beginning in January 2014, the FE exam will be offered only as a computer-based exam.  The exam will be offered year-round at approved Pearson VUE testing centers.  The exam will be offered in both Louisville and Lexington.  Registration for the exam will always be open and students are encouraged to register early to maximize scheduling availability.  Registration for the computer-based FE exam is scheduled to open on November 4, 2013, using the NCEES website.

Exam appointments will be six hours in length.  Examinees will have five hours and 20 minutes to complete the 110 question exam.  Examinees will have access to a searchable version of the Reference Handbook.  The exam will be offered on a computer monitor that will allow the display of both the exam and the searchable reference handbook.   Students are encouraged to become familiar with the handbook prior to taking the exam.  The FE Reference Handbook is available for purchase and free download at www.ncees.org/cbt.
