Zurada receives Fulbright Specialist grant

Professor Jacek M. Zurada

Professor Jacek M. Zurada of Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, J.B. Speed School of Engineering, has received a Fulbright Specialist Award from the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State. He will be visiting with the School of Engineering at the University of Catania, Italy, during May 8-June 5. 

The Fulbright Specialist Program promotes linkages between U.S. academics and professionals and their counterparts at overseas universities. While at Catania, Dr. Zurada will be conducting seminars, participate in workshops and work with local graduate students. He will hold a series of research seminars focused on computational learning, data mining and computational intelligence tools for data mining.  As Dr. Zurada also serves as the sitting Chair of IEEE Periodicals Review and Advisory Committee, he will mentor junior research faculty at the University of Catania on publishing papers, publications policies and open access issues.
