Why M.E. at UofL?

There are a lot of great engineering schools across America. Why should I attend UofL?

Here are just a few of the reasons:

  • With a full time, in-state tuition of $9,466 per academic year (for 2013-2014), UofL provides a great education at a reasonable cost. Compare this with the in-state tuition at other local schools: Purdue ($11,792), Michigan ($13,866), and Ohio State ($10,010).
  • We have outstanding professors, who actually teach our courses! In fact, the M.E. Department was recently awarded the Paul Weber award for outstanding, department-wide teaching.
  • The B.S. degree in M.E. has a required co-op component, which insures that students emerge with some (paid) practical experience.
  • We’ve recently expanded our lab offerings and renovated our undergraduate lab, for a more intensive and complete hands-on experience.
  • Successful students in the B.S. program may opt to stay another year (a 5thMasters of Engineering Degree (M.Eng.)
  • Our B.S. and M.Eng. Degrees are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET.
