J B Speed 203
The Industrial Engineering Computing Laboratory, located in J B Speed 203, is primarily an instructional lab, and secondarily a user center. A Trilogy DL3000 electromechanical lock permits 24-hour access; codes are individually assigned to Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management students. The facility is 768 square feet. Twenty workstations, 48x30, are Dell OptiPlex 745 computers, acquired October 2007, Windows XP, 3.4 GHz Pentium D, 2 GB RAM, 80 GB storage, DVD+/-RW, and 19” flat panel monitors. The computers are protected by DeepFreeze (Faronics), and upgrades are distributed by reimaging with Ghost (Symantec). Presentation includes a ceiling-mounted data projector, Dell 5100 MP, acquired April 2008; a seven foot screen; and a desktop podium to accommodate a laptop computer. Faculty often reserve this lab for use in course instruction. The lab also contains 33 combination lockers for IE students to use for secure storage of their belongings while on campus.
