Drs. Bai and Heragu Receive Transporation Grant

IE faculty, Dr Lihui Bai and Dr.  Sundersh Heragu and colleagues from Civil and Environmental Engineering at Uof L, have received federal funding to conduct research on intermodal transportation (e.g., integrated network models,  inland waterway operational models and inland waterway shipment management systems) under the Tier 1 University Transportation Center (UTC) in collaboration with Marshall University (lead), University of Kentucky and Hampton University (consortium members).  The 4-university consortium is recently (January 2012) awarded for $3.5 million by the US Department of Transportation Research and Innovative Technology Administration under the University Transportation Center program.
