Purpose of Career Day:
- Introduce young women to various fields of engineering
- Provide female role models - both engineering students and professional engineers - who can describe life as an engineer or engineering student
- Provide information about engineering classes, the admissions process and financial aid
Career Day includes information on admission to the University of Louisville, first year courses taken by engineering students, co-op, and financial aid. The program also features a student panel and professional female engineers so participants receive first-hand knowledge of the overall engineering experience and the chance to ask questions.
In the afternoon, students learn about two of the most exciting areas of Speed School: Bio-engineering and the state-of-the-art Micro/nanotechnology’s “Clean Room”. Program attendees meet with faculty, graduate students and technicians from both areas and tour the facilities.
Location: Vogt Building Room 311 (located on the corner of 3rd and Eastern Parkway)
Cost: $5.00 per person (cost of continental breakfast and lunch)
Teaches and counselors are invited to participate.
Because we would like to include students from a number of area schools, we ask that you select no more than five students from your school to join us at this time.
Download registration form now. The deadline to submit registration is Friday, February 5, 2010.
