Computer Security and Digital Forensics: Future Directions

Abstract
The lecture will introduce students to the current research taking
place at UofL’s Cyber Security laboratory. Founded in 2008, the lab
aspires to become a premier research center in computer security,
biometrics, and forensics. Located in room 239 of Duthie Engineering
Center the lab welcomes all students interested in conducting research
on security related topics. Particular topics covered in the lecture
will include:
- Artimetrics – a field of study aimed at identifying, classifying and authenticating robots, software and virtual reality agents for security, customization and other purposes.
- Forensics recovery of data encoded in DNA.
- Security and Safety of Artificially Intelligent Systems.
- Bot prevention via reversed Turing Tests.
Reception is 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. with the seminar commencing at 3:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
