Software Startups in a Global Economy
Speaker, Dr. Yu "Uny" Cao
Dr. Yu "Uny" Cao first came to Louisville in 1991 as a new college graduate from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. He was Dr. Elmaghraby’s student at the EMACS department of Speed School. Uny then went on to UCLA and completed his PhD in Computer Science with a strong emphasis on search engine technologies. He worked at Ask Jeeves, and then in 2007, he co-founded an e-commerce startup as its "bi-continental" CTO, working between Hangzhou and Los Angeles for the past 5 years, and the company recently completed its patent sale. In September, 2012 he joined Insigma Hengtian Software Ltd. in Hangzhou, a large off-shore outsourcing company.
