CECS Student Jimmy Murphy receives 2nd Lieutenant commission
James "Jimmy" Murphy began his studies at UofL in the Fall of 2007 right after his U.S. Army Basic Combat Training at Ft. Sill, OK. He started his career in the ROTC program in the Fall of 2008 and in the summer of 2009, he was awarded the ROTC Medal for Heroism for assisting in a traffic accident that involved four children being ejected from a van that rolled on the interstate. In the summer of 2010, he attended the ROTC Leadership Development and Accessions Course (LDAC) at Ft. Lewis, WA.
Jimmy received his B.S. in CECS and commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve at the end of the summer 2012 semester. He is currently enrolled in the MEng program and the graduate certificate program for Network and Information Security. His current area of concentration is networking and information security.
