Her area of research is collaborative filtering recommender systems and explanation generation for black box models. During Summer she did an internship at Gen-9 Inc. where she designed and developed machine learning algorithms for sensor-based wearables."

Anju Panicker is currently pursuing her PhD in Computer Vision and Image Processing. Her research particularly focuses on activity recognition and detection from videos. She got her MS in CECS from U of L and her thesis was on Network Intrusion Detection using parallel programming in GPU. Her other research interests include Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition, and Data Analysis. She is going to talk about her summer internship at Genscape Inc.

Faezeh Tafazzoli is a PhD student in the Multimedia lab, CECS department, UofL. She spent her Summer at Xerox research center, PARC located at Rochester, NY. Her responsibilities as a research scientist included developing Computer Vision techniques for identification and extraction of knowledge from real-time video streams with the application of aid efficiency in healthcare. She will share her experience about the company and their research projects.
