Abstract:
The disciplined study of engineering fundamentals at school establishes the foundation of knowledge for every young Engineer. Achieving a degree instills confidence. But what happens when the classroom gives way to the career? Well, the learning never ends. And in some ways it's actually where it begins. 25 years of applying engineering to commercial endeavors has provided plenty of lessons.

Brief Biography:
Tom Romano is the CIO KFC at Yum! Brands and he is an Engineering Math And Computer Science 1986 Masters graduate. Tom has been in the Restaurant/Retail industry for the past 18 years building, integrating and supporting operational and analytical applications in support of restaurants. Absolutely love the challenge of streamlining restaurant operations, using powerful analytic tools to optimize the business and working with franchise partners to provide them quality systems from a trusted source. Prior to that, Mr. Romano worked in the Defense industry after graduating with an Engineering degree in Engineering Mathematics and Computer Science. He built large simulation models and conducted studies and analyses based on these simulations.
