Bayesian Methods for Hyperspectral Image Analysis
Speaker: Dr. Alina Zare , Post-Doctoral Associate in the Department of Computer and Information Science and Engineering at the University of Florida.
Abstract: Hyperspectral imagery contains data about an image scene across a wide range of wavelengths. The large amount of spectral and spatial information contained in a hyperspectral image allows for classification and detection of different materials in the scene down to the sub-pixel level. The use of hyperspectral image analysis cover a wide range of applications including remote sensing, trace explosives detection, and medical applications such as tissue analysis or analysis of cell types. During this seminar, I will discuss statistically-based hierarchical Bayesian methods for sub-pixel hyperspectral image analysis with respect to these wide range of applications.
Brief Bio: Alina Zare is a Post-Doctoral Associate in the Department of Computer and Information Science and Engineering at the University of Florida. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Florida in 2008. Her research has been in Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition with a focus on Hyperspectral Image Analysis and Spectroscopy.
