Dutch Company Makes Plastic Roads- How Will They Hold Up?

What do you think? Does a plastic road sound like a good idea to you?

Dutch company Volker Wessels is developing a new concept that they hope will make roads easier to fix and cause less interruption to normal traffic: prefabricated, composite plastic road segments. These recycled plastic segments will be two lanes wide, with bicycle lanes on both sides. With the addition of drainage and cabling, they hope that their roads will prove as durable as traditional paving. They are currently testing their road segments on a stretch of road they've termed a "street lab" in the city of Rotterdam. If the roads prove as promising as they hope, they'll be implemented on a larger scale.
