Sociology Student Organizations
The Department of Sociology has both an undergraduate and graduate student organization. For undergraduates, the Sociology Student Association (SSA) is open to all students - not just those who are majors or minors in the discipline - and is heavily focused on service to the community. For more information about the SSA, contact Dr. Lauren Heberle or Prof. Andrea Koven.
For graduate students, the Sociology Graduate Student Association (SGSA) emphasizes graduate student research and provides an excellent opportunity for graduate students to get involved in the discipline through conference presentations, associate with faculty members in the department on a regular basis, and get acquainted with other sociology graduate students. For more information about the SGSA, contact Dr. Patricia Gagné, Director of Graduate Studies.
