Annual awards in service, research, and academics for graduating seniors

James E. DeBurger Award
This $100 cash award is given each spring to a graduating senior in sociology for outstanding research. Candidates may be nominated by faculty, staff, students, or self-nominated. Criteria for selection involves the submission of a sociology research paper which demonstrates sound research skills and insight into the discipline of sociology. Students should submit their papers to Dr. Jonetta Weber by March 15.

Charles H. Parrish Award
This $100 cash award is given each spring to a graduating senior in sociology for outstanding service. Candidates may be nominated by faculty, staff, students, or self-nominated. Selection is based upon service which is mainly voluntary, unpaid, and non-crediting, and which promotes human w elfare or contributes to communal development. Special recognition will be given to services which benefit minorities, the handicapped, or the disadvantaged. Students should submit a 1-2 page letter detailing their service activity/activities to Dr. Jonetta Weber by March 15.

Harold C. Yeager Award
This $100 cash award is given each spring to a graduating senior in sociology for outstanding academic performance. The recipient of the award will have the highest combined average of both cumulative and sociology GPAs. No submission is necessary for this award.
