Lottery Rules
Explanation: Students will submit groups of 1-25 to SGA. A document will be made available at the offices and online. Students will provide their name, e-mail, student I.D., and class standing. Each group will designate a team captain who will relay all necessary information to the rest of the group.
All submitted student groups will be broken into teams of 25 by SGA with a best effort to keep students in the same academic class. If teams of less than 25 are turned in, they will be grouped with other teams to form a group of 25. In this scenario, multiple team captains will exist.
Each team will be awarded points based on attendance at given sporting events. Additionally, 1 point will be awarded to any student with senior status (90+ credit hours).
Each student may receive 1-3 points depending on the designated point level of the event. The maximum number of points any team can earn is 775. The maximum number of points any student can earn is 31.
Chips will be drawn publicly in April before the Spring Football Game. The drawing will be made by representatives from SGA, athletics and student affairs.
Students will purchase the tickets at the spring football game in April of 2010, date TBA. Voucher pick-up will happenday of the Spring game, and purchase will take place throughout the day
If there are any tickets remaining they will be made available to all students at the ticket office following the lottery at a date TBA.
Rules, Restrictions and Eligibility
-
Students of UNDERGRADUATE STATUS must be enrolled in at least 7 credit hours in the previous and following semesters. There will be an appeals process for unique circumstances.
- Priority seating will be based on your group’s selection in the weighted lottery. Your chances for selection in the lottery will be weighted based on your participation in the above events.
- Once all the points have been accumulated, each group will be placed into a point tier based on their percentages of winning the lottery. Groups will be allocated among these tiers at a time when the varying percentages can be analyzed carefully, fairly, and concisely.
- Once you are placed in a tier, you will only be capable of winning the best available tickets in that tier. For instance, if the top tier is composed of 20 groups. then only those 20 groups will be eligible to win the Tier One seats. This ensures that the groups with the most participation in the “Cardinal Chase” will get the best seats for the upcoming football and basketball seasons.
- Attendance at the lottery drawing is not mandatory in order to purchase or receive your tickets.
- Attendance at the Spring Football game is mandatory to ensure you will receive the tickets you were selected for in the lottery.
- Vouchers will be distributed the day of the Spring Football Game.
- Vouchers will be turned in and payment must be made at the selected ticket office immediately following your ticket voucher pick-up. Payment can be made with cash, check or credit card.
- Unique circumstances are understandable, but in an effort to provide equal treatment across the student body, you must be at the Spring Football Game in April 2010 to fill out your ticket voucher. You must purchase your tickets at the Spring Football game.
- If there are tickets left over following the lottery process, this will be communicated to the entire student body and will be available on a first come first serve basis at the U of L ticket office located in the SAC.
