About the Student Senate
The Student Senate is comprised of elected student representatives from academic units of U of L who meet twice a month to excercise legislative powers and fulfill legislative duties, as provided by the SGA Constitution. Theses powers and duties include, but are not limited to, creating recommendations to the executive officers and university administration, running the SGA budget, appropriating money, providing a check on the SGA executive, approving new student organizations, and amending the Constitution and By-laws. Currently, the Senate is led by Speaker of the Senate John Docter and Stephanie Bonenberger, SGA Executive Vice President.
