This position is responsible for the overall management of
the Student Activities Center and Red Barn. This position is key to the success of our
customer service plan. The individuals in this position will take care of our customers to
make sure that t heir expectations and desires are met. The hours of this position are on
Friday - nights, Saturday - all day (two shifts), and Sunday - during the day on a
consistent basis during the Fall and Spring semesters. Hours will change to some degree
during th e summer session and when classes are not in session. There will be other times
where this position will be needed for vacation coverage or special events. Some of the
many duties that this position is responsible for are:
- Provide positive customer relations
- Serve as back-up for Facilities Supervisor when they are not scheduled or
immediately available (see Facilities Supervisor duties for specifics)
- Enforcement of safety and security
- Enforcement of policies and procedures
- Management of money from the Student Activities Center safe
- Assist the Theatre Supervisor as necessary
- Provide Theatre Supervisor with starter money for the movies
- Provide starter money for special events or activities as requested
- Open and close the Student Activities Center and Red Barn
- Turn on and off escalators and lights
- Note maintenance problems and report to appropriate person
- Check reservations or the building schedule for customers if asked
- Make rounds through the Student Activities Center and Red Barn at least every 1 to 1-1/2
hours
- Maintain Manager On Duty activity reports
- Correct and sign employee time cards
- Print and place room schedule cards for the following day
