The UNICEF Concert for Peace

On December 1, 2007, 2006 Grammy Nominee Caroline Worra and the all-star Asyla ensemble performed Gustav Mahler's Fourth Symphony, arranged for Chamber Ensemble by Erwin Stein. It was conducted by Scott Voyles, a University of Louisville Alumnus.

The 2007 UNICEF Concert for Peace featured special guest speaker Nick Clooney, a long-time journalist who is also George Clooney's father. The UNICEF Concert for Peace is an important venue for raising awareness of the issues surrounding children in impoverished and war-torn nations.

Concert and Cookout at the Red Barn 

Poverty Week at UofL

Musicians Andrea Davidson, Karsten Nelson and Nathan Calhoun played at the Red Barn. 

The show was the kick-off to UofL's 'Poverty Week,' where many issues concerning the poverty of people domestically and internationally were discussed. 

We were also able to raise money for UNICEF through the donation drawing at the event

Halloween Event

For Halloween last year, we worked with several Louisville elementary and middle schools to raise money for medical and school supplies for children around the world.  This year we set our goal at $2500.  We worked with four schools and raised $2700!

UofL raised more money than any other UNICEF chapter nation-wide!

Our Mission

The US Fund for UNICEF offers interested college students the opportunity to become actively engaged in working on international issues relating to children. Membership entails joining a national initiative of like- minded college students focused on alleviating the plight of children throughout the developing world via fundraising, educating, and advocating.
