SWE Freshman Sleepover 2009
July 16-17, 2009

The 2009 SWE Freshman Sleepover was the biggest sleepover the UofL section of SWE has hosted. Twenty four incoming freshman attended the sleepover! The night was filled with various events beginning at 4:00 pm, when the girls started arriving. PEACC, a faculty panal, and a professional panel all introduced themselves to the girls and answered a variety of questions. After eating Fazoli's for dinner, the girls were introduced to their mentors*, and got to ask them questions about their experiences in SWE and at UofL in general. A scavenger hunt and maze followed. The night was finished off with a raffle and bonding time. On Friday morning, the girls attended a calculus class to get a feel for how their first semester would be. When some of the girls were asked what their favorite part of the sleepover was, many said they just liked relaxing and talking to the other girls to see what their first year in college was like.
*Requirements for the Mentors:
- go to Freshman Sleepover for student panel/dinner
- contact mentee a minimum of 2 times per semester (once being the first week of school).
- have lunch/get together with your mentee 2 times during the semester.
